Since its incorporation in 1925, Rauschwalde has been a district of Görlitz. The district's buildings consist of late 19th-century structures, IW64-type apartment blocks from the GDR era, and single-family homes. In the mid-1970s, five-story apartment blocks with approximately 1,500 units were built west of Karl-Eichler-Straße.

King's hides

The Königshufen housing estate, located in the north of the city, was developed starting in 1939. During the GDR era, the district was expanded with a new housing development consisting mainly of prefabricated apartment blocks. For several years now, the district has been undergoing extensive redevelopment as part of an urban renewal project.
